Jim Olson

Jim graduated from Bellingham High School and attended Edmonds Community College and the University of Washington.  He served in the USMC from 1952 – 1960, first in the reserves and then attached to Base Maintenance Area 24 at Camp Pendleton.  In 1956 he served in the 3rd Engineers 3rd Battalion in Okinawa, the Philippines, China and Japan, and returned to Twentynine Palms in Base Maintenance.  From 1958 – 1960 he was attached to reserve unit Recon Infantry out of South Bend, IN and was honorably discharged in 1960.

After leaving the Marine Corp, he worked in various positions at Heath Company Electronics Corp., General Telephone, Work Factor and Associates and California Home Brands where he retired as General Manager.

After retirement, Jim pursued his life-long passion for golf and opened his own golf shop in LaVerne, CA which he operated until selling it and moving to Palm Desert.  Jim has been married to his wife Carole for 46 years and they have one grown daughter.
