Michael L. Holguin

Mike enlisted in the Marine Corps June 1980 and spent a year in the delayed entry program. He arrived at MCRD San Diego June 1981. After completing more than 30 years of active duty service and obtaining the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant Mike retired from the Marine Corps on 31 Aug 2011. 
Mike's various assignments within 1st Marine Division included ; Fox Company 2nd Battalion 5th Marines, Camp Margarita, 1st Light Armored Infantry ; Battalion,  Delta Company, 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance  Battalion, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit on board the USS Belleau Wood, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit on board the USS Pelelui , and 7th Marine Regiment.

Mike's other assignments included; Naval Weapons Station, Marine Barracks, Concord, Ca; Recruiting Duty at Recruiting substation Fresno and Merced, Ca; U. S. Naval Base, Marine Barracks Ground Defense/Security Force Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; Marine Security Guard Battalion (State Department) served as the Detachment Commander in Marine Security Guard Detachment United States Interest Section Havana, Cuba, and United States Embassy San Salvador, El Salvador; Operations Chief for U.S. Central Command Joint Operation Center Mac Dill Florida; Senior Enlisted Advisor/Operations Chief for Tactical Training Exercise Control Group.  
Mike is currently working as the Operations Officer Training Support Center, MCAGCC, Twentynine Palms.
