PALM DESERT JOINS OUR 2015 TOY COLLECTION DRIVE
They have already started to support the Chapter by placing toy collection boxes in City facilities and are asking city employees to contribute toys at their annual Christmas Party in December.

We have been talking to them about having a much bigger Veteran’s Day Celebration in 2015 which will include a barbecue hosted by the Chapter and supported by the City. More on this in 2015.

The P D Area Chamber of Commerce has also placed toy collection boxes at their offices and are asking members to support the toy drive.  They will hold their December members mixer at the Living Desert on December 10th which should produce another sizeable toy donation.

The P S Air Museum has also joined the toy drive and has placed collection boxes at their facilities.

Windermere Realtors will place one of our collection boxes in each of their twelve offices in the Coachella Valley.

Toys will be delivered to the Armed Services YMCA at the Combat Center on Friday, December 19th just in time for Santa to hand out the next day.

JENSEN’S CHRISTMAS FUND RAISER
Over the Thanksgiving Weekend, we kicked off the annual fund raiser to provide Christmas Turkey Dinners for the families of Marines deployed this Christmas. This Christmas Marines and Corpsmen from the 2nd Battalion 7th Marines are deployed to
UAE, Kuwait, QATAR and a company to reinforce our embassy in Baghdad.

We want to recognize and thank the following members for making some changes with their Thanksgiving Holiday plans so we covered both Jensen’s stores before and after Thanksgiving:  Jim & George Larsh 2 shifts; Les Carlyle; Dan Silvers 2 shifts; George Moffatt, Jack Rabinowitz 2 shifts; Nick Walz 2 shifts; Jim Olson  2 shifts;
new member Dave Mourhess 2 shifts; Gene McClendon, Bob Shepard 2 shifts; Dick Partee 2 shifts; Dean Hunter; Howard Lehman; Quint Villanueva; Bruno Takacs, Harry Ziegler and Jim Sullivan.

DECEMBER SCHEDULE FOR JENSEN’S FUND RAISER
The opening Thanksgiving week produced record donations.  This should provide momentum for a record month of December.

As you know all of this effort will provide us with increased support for the Marines and families of the 7th Marine Regiment. There are over 4000 Marines + their families in the regiment so the more donations that we raise the more Marine families we can provide Christmas turkey dinners and gift cards for.

Here is how you can help:  Please sign up for a three hour shift as follows:
