    1st MARINE DIVISION ASSOCIATION HONOR WOMEN MARINES

    The Desert Cities Mitchell Paige MOH Chapter hosted a luncheon to honor  women Marines from MCAGCC, 29 Palms.  The luncheon was held on Saturday, April 21st.  Miss Joey English was the Mistress of Ceremonies,  SgtMajor Jennifer Simmons, from Camp Pendleton was the guest of honor and speaker.
     
    Other guests recognized were MajGeneral William Groeniger, USMC (Ret.); LtColonel Ted Wong, Commanding Officer of the Wounded Warriors, 29 Palms; SgtMajor Matthew Brookshire, 29 Palms Base; 25 Women Marines from 29 Palms and Dory Dunn, USO volunteer since 1941.
     
    SgtMajor Simmons spoke about her 24 year career in the Marine Corps and the great opportunities that she has had to advance her career. She motivated women in the audience to consider a career in the Marines.
     
    This was the third annual luncheon held by the 1st Marine Division Association at the I W Club.
